Meet Your Captain
Captain Bruce
From age 14, Captain Bruce was navigating the rivers and shorelines of Massachusetts on watercraft that included a 13’ Winner, 14’ Boston Whaler and an 18’ Old Town. He was once published in Yankee Magazine for his short story depicting boat life on the North River.
During his enlistment in the US Navy, he spent 3 years as an Intelligence Specialist onboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation. To this date, the Constellation’s record of 110 consecutive days at sea for a US Naval vessel has not been broken (Indian Ocean off the coast of Iran). Later,
stationed in London, England, he tracked daily all Soviet and WarsawPact warship locations and exercises in the Baltic Sea, reporting to US and all NATO allies.
Captain Bruce learned to sail in California waters off the coast of Redondo Beach and Catalina Island. After moving to Florida in the 90’s, he gained experience in the Gulf of Mexico and inland waters of the Crystal River area, primarily on 20+’ vessels such as Sea Rays and
Bayliners.
Captain Bruce has lived in the Fort Lauderdale area since 2011. He currently lives aboard the “Magnolia Grace” and when not at sea, spends time restoring the boat and assisting with charters on the Intracoastal Waterway in the Fort Lauderdale and Miami area.
